Applications for Shielded Connectors

We produce shielded connectors for many applications. They typically include EMI / RFI Interference sensitive, and products for severe, rugged environments.

Variations

Shielded ConnectorsShielding can be accomplished several ways including cables with twisted pairs, foil shields or braided shields with or without metal shelled connectors. Cables incorporating individual or overall foil shields may also contain drain wires.

  • When using non-metallic connectors the drain or braid can be terminated to a contact on one or either end of the assembly
  • When using metal shell connectors, the drain or braid can be terminated to the connector shell, a contact or both on one or either end of the assembly
  • Some applications require the use of a ferrite bead, either mechanically attached or overmolded to the cable
  • When specifying metal shelled connectors, the shell provides 360 shielding though-out the mated pair of connectors. In this application, the shield is attached to the connector back-shell and continuity is achieved through the mated pair.

Contact termination styles: Depending on your requirements, we have the capability to terminate the conductor to the contact using crimp or solder technology.
